School
The public school building in Okagwe is small, dilapidated and partly neglected. Despite compulsory schooling, many children work instead of attending school. Especially for girls and young women, a cycle of dependency and violence develops.

The teacher from Okagwe explains the difficult situation of the school and the pupils.
Our Project
Education creates opportunities and enables children and adolescents to shape their own future. In Okagwe Item we support the construction of a school to give children from poor families access to education and upbringing.
In addition to building the infrastructure, the quality and sustainability of teaching will be ensured through continuing education programs for the teachers and the involvement of parents and the village community in school administration. Additionally, we plan to award school scholarships. This way we ensure that no child is excluded from classes because of financial barriers.
Phases
- Phase 1: Site selection, concept phase and community consultation
- Phase 2: Construction and equipping of the school
- Phase 3: Curriculum development and staff recruitment
We are at the beginning of Phase 1.
